Sweet Cedar Cabin will not disappoint on your cabin vacation dreams. Walking up to your vacation, you will enter the cabin through the front porch, that has graciously shared its living space with a huge Sugar Pine. We have a check‐in person available from 3pm‐6pm, but we will make arrangements for arrival afterhours. Entering the Sweet Cedar Cabin, you will find the living room with airy vaulted ceilings, chunky exposed beams, natural rock wood burning fireplace, with a gas log starter (for those of us without a fire‐starting thumb) and a huge sectional perfect for cuddling on those cold winter days. The living room has a large Samsung Smart TV with streaming capabilities. We provide Hulu, Netflix, Disney+ and Vudu (no cable). Under the entry table you'll find a boot and glove dryer for those snowy days. Our expertly apprised kitchen is open to the living room, with a native live edge cedar slab on the bar. Pull up our barstools to enjoy chatting with your BYOC (bring your own chef) for the evening.  

Our designer kitchen is an homage to the original aesthetics. By utilizing the vintage oak cabinets, we kept that quirky cabin vibe, but upgraded to today’s necessities with an earthy color palette worthy of this scenery. You won’t miss our custom vent hood, designed specifically for this space. Your host loves to cook, so the kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, and all the goodies to make sure you can whip up a tasty meal. Browse through the Sweet Cedar Cabin’s Recipe book. Filled with the hosts favorite recipes, nothing like trying out a new recipe (I know you can do it!). We encourage our guests to share a recipe during their stay.

Just off the kitchen is the Wolf’s Sanctuary Guest Room. The Wolf’s Sanctuary has a queen size bed, with a headboard that won’t block any of your natural sunlight pouring into the room. Melt into the Premium Posturepedic mattress and feel the stress dissipate as you watch Netflix on the 40” TV (streaming services available). The nightstand has a humidifier to make sure you are completey comfortable in the cold weather. The Wolf’s Sanctuary has its own bathroom attached to the room, which also has an entrance to the hallway. This is perfect so guests don’t have to enter the bedroom, but also allows for private use from your room. The bathroom is equipped with a brand‐new vanity, toilet and full‐size shower.  Please note, our water heater is a standard size, and can accommodate approximately two consecutive hot showers before needing time to reheat. Piping hot showers are a must after the snowy mountains day, so time it accordingly with your other guests!

Just down the hall from the kitchen is the Bear’s Retreat Guest Room. The Bear’s Retreat has an exquisite knotty pine King Bedframe. Sink into the heavenly mattress as you choose to stare out the back‐sliding glass door or turn on the 40” Smart TV for a little escape (streaming services available). The nighstand has a humidifier to add moisture to the winter air for a more comfortable sleep. The Bear’s Retreat has a walk‐in closet, perfect for hanging up your mountain wardrobe, or stashing luggage. The closet has a compact electric dryer to help dry off winter clothes (cabin does not have a washing machine). The private bathroom has a brand‐new vanity, toilet and a shower/tub combo.  Just out of the Bear’s Retreat sliding glass door you’ll find the backyard with a quaint patio set for your enjoyment. Our backyard shed is currently locked, we have big plans for this so bear (no pun intended) with us!

You may see pictures of our rescue pup, Honey. She likes the mountains as much as we do, but let’s face it, she is a couch potato. We would love to welcome your well behaved, potty trained pooches to the Sweet Cedar Cabin. Please keep in mind, our yard is fully fenced at 4’ high. If you have a jumper, keep them on a leash.

We feel that our pets are a part of our family. Please be considerate and up front if you feel your pet may not be suitable for our cabin. We have nice furnishings and would like to continue providing this level of accommodations for our families and pets alike. We appreciate all of our responsible pet owners.
 
Guest to notify owner of any pets that they are requesting to bring on their vacation (name, breed, age, weight). Guest agrees that the Owners reserve the right, at their discretion, to not allow a pet during the stay at the property. 
Guest shall be responsible for Guest’s Pet at all times.
Guest will take all reasonable action to not allow Guest‘s Pet from creating a nuisance, annoyance and disturbance to the neighbors.
Guest’s Pet will be kept in appropriate areas within the Premises and will not be left unattended for an undue amount of time. 
Guest’s Pet will be under the full control of Guest at all times and is allowed outside the Premises only if contained in a fenced in area or restrained on a leash or in a pet carrier.
Guest will clean up and properly dispose of all pet waste inside and outside the Premises including any and all common areas.
Guest will comply with all applicable statutes, local ordinances, rules and regulations.      
Guest shall be liable for any damage, loss or injury caused by Guest’s Pet. Guest will pay all costs to repair, clean or replace any damage to the Premises including but not limited to furniture, rugs, floors, tiles, walls, doors, screens, windows, drapes, cabinets, landscaping and fence.

The entire cabin is available for your use. We have one locked closet in the living room to store supplies and our outdoor shed is currently locked.

This property is owned and operated by the same people who love to enjoy it, the owners. We have put our heart into creating this space that we enjoy with our family and want to share with you. We are not local, but we are available 24/7 to address any immediate concerns you may have via message/text/call. We also have a company that is local and can arrange onsite services as needed.

The Sweet Cedar Cabin is located on a very quiet street. It is perfectly located for active families, couples or friends. We are 1 mile from Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, bring your snowboards and skis! We are within walking distance of mountain biking/walking trails. The trails are relatively level and perfect to take your dog or young kids. Our children love exploring and looking for the natural wood teeter totters. You can skip the parking pass and walk to the sledding hills!

**WINTER RESERVATIONS** Big Bear does get snow. Guests will need to come prepared with tire chains, snow tires are not enough. We will send a reminder to check road conditions before your arrival, but it is the guests responsibility to come prepared before their trip. Please note, the cabin's driveway will be plowed before your arrival, but we do not snow plow during the duration of your trip. We do provide a snow shovel, and dependent on the weather, you may need to make a path for your car down the driveway. Guests sometimes underestimate the time needed to do this at check-out, please allot yourself enough time so you're not stressed as you head out. The city does plow the streets, DO NOT PARK ON THE STREET, or you will be towed. Part of the fun of coming to the snow is the adventure, we just want to make sure you feel prepared and can enjoy the winter wonderland!

We are a family of four, with two young children. Our space is equipped with the basic amenities to make your stay a little easier for the littles. Let’s face it, one less thing to pack is a win! A few of the items are a pac’n’play, booster seat, baby seat for the tub, umbrella stroller and a few fun games that we’ll keep as a surprise.  

Big Bear Lake does not have a typical trash pick‐up service. Please take your trash to the local disposal site, conveniently located 1.5 miles away from the cabin. Do not leave trash outside, it will attract bears/raccoons/etc.

Our cabin is licensed through the city of Big Bear Lake (LC20190430) We are held to our occupancy of four (4) guest's, unfortunately we cannot accommodate additional occupants. Please disregard the "Extra Guest" feature that is standard through AirBnB.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $50.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $50.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 7 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
